Joseph G. Onieva was born in Madrid – Spain in 1956.
He began studying architecture, completing his training in Arts. He studied art and sculpture in the Italian cities of Florence and Verona. He later returned to Madrid, where he settled permanently in his own studio. His work is closely related to nature, his true passion.
His work, present in small, medium and large formats, is made of different materials such as bronze and steel and has innovative features such as mobile sculptures in balance.
His works are scattered among private collections, companies, public organizations and prestigious foundations in Spain, as in Europe, USA and Asia.
Exceptionally he has exhibited in some international gallery for the first time in Spain, in 2010, at the Royal Botanic Garden and in 2011 in the Buen Retiro Park, with sculptures of Corten steel and bronze. Equilibria between 3 and 6 meters high.
He is currently working on a new collection of balances for several international exhibitions.
